Reset an Android
To reset an Android device to factory settings, follow these steps:
Option 1: From Settings (Standard Method)
Open Settings:
- Go to the device’s Settings app.
Navigate to Reset Options:
Scroll down and tap System (or General Management on some devices).
Tap Reset or Reset Options.
Choose Factory Reset:
- Select Erase all data (factory reset).
Confirm the Reset:
Review the information, then tap Reset Phone or Erase Everything.
Enter your PIN, password, or pattern if prompted.
Wait for the Reset:
- The device will reboot and restore to factory settings.
Option 2: Using Recovery Mode
Turn Off the Device:
- Power off the device completely.
Enter Recovery Mode:
Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons (or Volume Down + Power, depending on the device).
Release the buttons when the logo appears, and you see the recovery menu.
Select Factory Reset:
Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe data/factory reset.
Press the Power button to select.
Confirm the Reset:
- Choose Yes to confirm.
Reboot the Device:
- Once the process is complete, select Reboot system now.
Option 3: Using Find My Device (Remote Reset)
Visit Google Find My Device:
- Go to Find My Device and sign in with your Google account.
Select Your Device:
- Choose the device you want to reset.
Erase Device:
- Click Erase Device and confirm. This will perform a factory reset remotely.
Note:
A factory reset will erase all data on the device. Ensure you back up important files beforehand.
If your device is protected by a Google account, you’ll need to sign in with that account after the reset (FRP lock).
