Reset an Android

To reset an Android device to factory settings, follow these steps:


Option 1: From Settings (Standard Method)

  1. Open Settings:

    • Go to the device’s Settings app.
  2. Navigate to Reset Options:

    • Scroll down and tap System (or General Management on some devices).

    • Tap Reset or Reset Options.

  3. Choose Factory Reset:

    • Select Erase all data (factory reset).
  4. Confirm the Reset:

    • Review the information, then tap Reset Phone or Erase Everything.

    • Enter your PIN, password, or pattern if prompted.

  5. Wait for the Reset:

    • The device will reboot and restore to factory settings.

Option 2: Using Recovery Mode

  1. Turn Off the Device:

    • Power off the device completely.
  2. Enter Recovery Mode:

    • Press and hold the Volume Up and Power buttons (or Volume Down + Power, depending on the device).

    • Release the buttons when the logo appears, and you see the recovery menu.

  3. Select Factory Reset:

    • Use the volume buttons to navigate to Wipe data/factory reset.

    • Press the Power button to select.

  4. Confirm the Reset:

    • Choose Yes to confirm.
  5. Reboot the Device:

    • Once the process is complete, select Reboot system now.

Option 3: Using Find My Device (Remote Reset)

  1. Visit Google Find My Device:

  2. Select Your Device:

    • Choose the device you want to reset.
  3. Erase Device:

    • Click Erase Device and confirm. This will perform a factory reset remotely.

Note:

  • A factory reset will erase all data on the device. Ensure you back up important files beforehand.

  • If your device is protected by a Google account, you’ll need to sign in with that account after the reset (FRP lock).
